It is generally recommended that for optimum results a session in the ice bath should be 2 to 3 minutes. And just a note: It is called an "ice" bath but the water is cold -- not freezing.)
The first few times you have an ice bath it can feel painful; but then you adapt (typically after 4 or 5 sessions) and it no longer feels so cold.
Bring your own towel
Not recommended for people with certain conditions, including circulatory issues like peripheral vascular disease, a history of frostbite, Raynaud’s disease, or if you have an open wound or recent surgery.
